What is QAS?
The goal of Quarrington Arts Society / Société des Arts Quarrington (QAS) is to encourage and promote multidisciplinary artistic endeavour. Our focus is directed towards achievement by Canadian artists and Canadian students of the arts. We define "artistic discipline" with the broadest scope in mind – imagine any of the exciting combinations possible in the fields of literature, film-making, music, visual arts and sculpture, performance art for stage or screen, and all of the fascinating permutations made possible by the advance of technology. Our guiding principle is to follow in the spirit of the Society's namesake, Paul Quarrington, whose career included many artistic manifestations of his creative vision in film, television, music and books.

Awards Generate Awareness
QAS will realize our goal by presenting The Quarrington Award to one or more multidisciplinary artists each year. The Award may recognize all or any one of the following: a single work, a group of works, a body of work, or a career or lifetime of work.
Through this activity we can raise the awareness of the need to support artists who have multidisciplinary talents - many of whom are told from an early age to abandon their full gamut of talents and focus on a single aspect leaving them only partially fulfilled and incomplete.

Student Programs And Support
It is an integral part of our plan to support our emerging artists. As such we will also recognize one or more Canadian student of the arts, whose areas of study encompass more than one artistic discipline. By doing so, we hope to amplify the artistic opportunities for our upcoming generations of artists, helping to ensure they are well appreciated for their ability to find expression in many métiers.
